stretching the screen

i'm on a 800x600 resolution. ever since i started coming to this site, it's always stretched off to the right. anytime i'm reading posts, I usually have to scroll to the right to read the ends of it. is there any way to fix this? is it like this for everybody, or just a problem of my own?

Yah you're gonna get that at 800 x 600.
If you can, push up your resolution to 1024 x 768.

You can't throw out blanket statements like that. Depends a whole damn lot on how big your monitor is for instance.
And oh. 1280x1024 is retarded. 1280x960 is where it's at. Don't ask me why 1280x1024 is an accepted standard resolution. Its ratio is 5:4, not 4:3 as all other (standard) resolutions. An n² pixel box will be non-square. Actually, every damn pixel will be non-square. Perfect. Really smart.
